The teachers of KOSICEKURZ will now be organising a
Slovak language for beginners/intermediate okolo Kosic. This
time It wont
be affilliated with UJOP, since UJOPKE is now closed and the teachers
are no longer working in an UJOP branch. The course will take place
between 01stAug-19th August05. Detailed information can be
obtained here.
Other news Ujop Kosice will be closed down for ever as of September 2004. It is a very sad story. Nevertheless, those interested in learning Slovak can still contact the teachers. They will teach in some locations most probably still in eastern Slovakia. I hope that we meet them during another Slovak course or in some other interesting occassion. Eugene Cuno ex deputy mayor of Kosice has been arrested along with a lawyer named only as Ladislav P, and businessman Viktor K on March 10. Čuňo is believed to have promised to help the construction firm Kame-Slovakia Group get the city job, worth Sk181 million (ˆ4.47 million), said Interior Minister Vladimír Palko at a press conference on March 11. |

More Information Ex Deputy major of Kosice, Eugen Cuno whom we met and interviewed on our last day was arrested.
